{"id":1216,"date":"2026-08-11T17:41:56","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T17:41:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/terrapins.ca\/?p=1216"},"modified":"2026-08-11T18:17:38","modified_gmt":"2026-08-11T18:17:38","slug":"the-terrapins-take-part-fully-in-the-half-marathon-des-vignobles","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/terrapins.ca\/index.php\/en\/2026\/08\/11\/the-terrapins-take-part-fully-in-the-half-marathon-des-vignobles\/","title":{"rendered":"The Terrapins Take Part fully in the Half\u2011Marathon des Vignobles"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Sunday, August 9, 2026, a team of eight Terrapins took part in the Half\u2011Marathon des Vignobles in Saint\u2011Paul\u2011d\u2019Abbotsford: seven as volunteers, and one Terrapine as a brave half\u2011marathon participant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our volunteers were assigned to Aid Station #5, a beautiful spot near Verger Thomson at the foot of Mont Yamaska. The scenery was so charming that a few runners nearly forgot they were racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This station was highly strategic: every participant in the 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km passed through \u2014 some of them twice. Energy, enthusiasm, and fast hands were essential. The words \u201cELECTROLYTES!\u201d and \u201cDELO!\u201d were shouted so often that they may echo in a few Terrapin memories for weeks. Some volunteers even lost their voices \u2014 undeniable proof of Terrapin dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The highlight of the day came when our Terrapine runner reached the station at the 19<sup>th<\/sup> km of her half\u2011marathon. The moment she appeared, the noise level jumped instantly: it felt like a rock star on tour, but in running shoes. The encouragement worked \u2014 she achieved one of her best half\u2011marathon times. Bravo, Andr\u00e9anne!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Overall, it was a fantastic first volunteer experience for the Terrapins \u2014 one we will certainly repeat in future
