To celebrate her birthday, a Terrapin crossed the legendary Baie of Mont Saint-Michel in France — barefoot and bold — all the way to the island of Tombelaine. Silke navigated rivers, quicksand (yes, there’s a trick to escaping it!), and tidal flats with true Terrapin spirit.
Mont Saint-Michel is a UNESCO site with 30 residents, 9 monks and 33,000 visitors/day.
Tombelaine was once occupied by the English for 30 years (they never conquered Mont Saint-Michel), now a bird sanctuary with a romantic legend of lost love!
